This is a public diary, written to entertain. I also have a private one, but there’s not much in it. I think Tolstoy did that too, so I am just like him but with less facial hair.
Teresa Zepeda did the aquatint etchings that appear at the top of each entry. The kid is our son Enzo in the summer of 2012. This diary is about us, especially him, plus food. He is our Muse.
The entries from 1995 are about the time when Teresa and I first moved in together. I have a very messy copy of that diary which I’m trying to edit. But most of these entries are from the present. That’s probably because kids take up a lot of space in your mind. It’s hard to keep up with them.
I should add that my diaries from 1993 and 1994 are available on Amazon, and enough time has passed that I can be sure they’re good. My 2012 diary is also there, and I think it might be good, but a bit thin. And I have a strange food book that’s probably not bad. My mom’s friends like it a lot.
